The Bachelor of Computer Science

Bachelor diploma types:

Overview:


The computer is primarily a scientific discipline, for which it is essential to acquire a rigorous methodology; the issues can be both technical and human.

Computer science training is designed to achieve three objectives:

  • Explore the wide spectrum of knowledge needed for most jobs in this area. They are mainly:

    • Programming and software design
    • Algorithms and Data Structures
    • Networks
    • Databases
    • Computer Architecture
       
  • Master the programming techniques and methods taught in programming, logics and mathematics courses.

  • Achieve the skills that are needed in software industry today. This specialization step is performed in the Master degree.

Sequence of courses:

It takes place over six semesters, or three years called L1, L2, L3.
Each semester consists of a number of EU (teaching units) with a total "value" of 30 ECTS credits: The student then gets his license, when he has validated 180 ECTS credits.

  • L1: This first year of training is shared with the license of mathematics.
    It has a multidisciplinary nature which allows the student, after two semesters of second year to move into one of the following:

             Mathematics, Computer ScienceEngineering .
     

  • L2/L3: The student will be able to choose among three Computer Science bachelor diploma types.

  • An opportunity to have bi-cultural (French-German) diploma high by subscribing to ISFATES (The French-German Institute of  Technology, Economics and Sciences). 

    You can prepare a Franco-German diploma degree in six semesters of full integration, where the first year of studies done at the UPV-Metz, the second year at the HTW (Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft des Saarlandes) Saarbrücken, 3rd year / semester 5 at UPV-Metz, 3rd year / semester 6 HTW has Sarrebrück with an internship in the partner country. Your Bachelor of Science, specializing in Mechanical Engineering (Informatics) diploma will be issued jointly by the two institutions and recognized by the Franco-German University.
